Mumbai: Prabhjeet Singh, previously Director Operations and Head of Cities for Uber, has been appointed as President of the India and South Asia region with immediate effect, the company said.
In his new role, he will be overseeing the next phase of growth in the company’s mobility business and ensuring safety for riders and drivers across India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
“His unique style of building and leading has allowed him to adopt Uber’s global business model to India, launch multiple new cities and lead several India-first innovations, including scaling up Auto and Moto categories and building a truly multi-modal platform, which have both been exported to other emerging markets. We are excited to see him steer Uber in its next phase of growth to build back better in the new normal” Uber said in a statement.
Singh, who joined Uber in 2015, has replaced Pradeep Parameswaran as the company president for India and South Asia.

Prabh is a passionate and innovative leader and has been instrumental in helping build Uber from the ground up and established our category leadership in the ride-sharing market. I’m confident Prabh will exceed our expectations by leading Uber India SA on to the path of profitability, further consolidate our partnership with public transport authorities, continue our growth trajectory by expanding Auto and Moto to the next batch of cities, and build iconic teams,’’ Parameswaran, said.
