New Delhi: Nepal Prime Minister KP Oli has alleged that India along with few political forces in the country is actively conspiring to throw him out of power as revenge against Kathmandu’s decision for issuing new political map which included Indian territories.
According to Myrepublica, the PM claimed that “Indian media, intellectuals and state machineries along with forces in Nepal were all conspiring to unseat him after his government took a resolute action toward retrieving the territory that Nepal maintains are illegally held by India for decades.”
Oli further said that he was aware of all the plans to oust him from power but added that it was impossible to remove him.
Oli facing immense pressure from his party to quit as PM
“A section of political leaders within my party and the opposition parties in Nepal have joined hands with foreign forces to oust me from power and many leaders from Nepal themselves are active in this,” he said and urged his party and the parliamentary party committee not to be swayed by such forces.
Oli is facing immense pressure from his party to quit as the PM or the chairmanship of the party.
“Nepal’s nationalism is not that weak to leave a prime minister ousted from power just because he takes decisions in favour of nationalism,” he further said.
China’s interference in Nepal’s politics
While Oli talks about nationalism, he has no problem with Communist China’s interference in Nepal’s political affairs.
In May, amid interparty tensions in Nepal, Chinese ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi held a series of political meetings with the political ruling class including NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal or Prachanda.
The meeting was called to save the Oli government as Prachanda and Madhav Kumar Nepal wanted to oust Oli and by acting as a mediator Yanqi saved KP Sharma Oli from losing the top post.
Oli is under fire after it was reported that China had grabbed Nepalese territory after which the opposition Nepali Congress tabled a resolution urging the PM to bring back China-encroached land through diplomatic means.
